Fluid Layouts & multi-column layouts?

Let's say I have 40 divs that I want to divide into columns. And that I want the number of divs in each column to scale based on the vi开发者_开发知识库ewport height.

So, for instance, if the viewport height is 1000px, there could be 10 divs per column. And if it were resized to 500px tall, there would be 5 divs per column.

Is this possible to do entirely with CSS (and @media queries)?
