codeigniter and wordpress

I am developing an website which involves product search and blogs about the product. Both the products and blogs have same categories. For search and comparin开发者_如何学Gog of product and other stuff I am using Codeigniter where for blogging I prefer wordpress. Now the user login and categorization about the product will be in codeigniter. Is there anyway we can integrate both the system, or use wordpress database and query only the relevant blog details using codeigniter?
